Coralie and Nils’ wedding, Naysses Estate, Callian (Var)

The Naysses Estate

Coralie and Nils had chosen the family-owned Naysses estate for their wedding. A true haven of peace in the middle of Provence, this estate made up of several traditional farmhouses in the local architectural style, is an ideal setting for a bohemian countryside wedding in the Var region.

The fist meeting

It was in this charming, little-known location that the wedding of this young couple who are based in Sweden (and who I had first met on Skype) took place.

Meeting the couple and viewing the wedding venue for the first time is an important time for the photographer. Doing this a few days before the wedding gives the photographer time to get to know the couple and get a sense of what they want so that the wedding photos are as personal as possible.

Their wishes

Coralie and Nils wanted a rural setting, both chic and modern with a relaxed South of France vibe. : First and foremost they wanted to showcase the setting, the natural surroundings, making it the focus of their wedding. To go with this, they had chosen a simple and elegant decoration scheme with flowers, twigs and candles.

The big day

My role as wedding photographer was primarily to manage to capture the atmosphere and the emotion of this unique and unforgettable day for the happy couple. To capture every moment, every glance, every emotion.

I started by photographing the bride and groom while they were getting ready.

The photos of Coralie show her getting her makeup done, wearing her close-fitting backless wedding dress with the delicate lace that was in perfect harmony with the bohemian countryside theme that had been chosen. The Sincerity wedding dress was both modern and romantic and let the bride’s personality shine through.

Capturing Nils, in a Father & Sons suit with his groomsmen.

A reminder of the little details that had been prepared with such love like the wedding ring case and the gift box he had specially made for them.

The first look

I also took great pleasure in photographing that first emotional look they shared on their big day and their joy at committing to each other under this magnificent leaf arch.
The freedom offered by outdoor civil weddings always allows very emotional moments to be captured. Often arranged by relatives of the couple, they are very intimate, personal and emotion-filled ceremonies peppered with anecdotes.

Spontaneous snapshots of the wedding are always accompanied by more staged photos of the couple, photos that Coralie and Nils will always cherish.

This bucolic setting of olive trees and lavender bushes was the ideal location for these tender photos. The unique light of Provence produces an outstanding effect, with the interplay between light and shade giving the photos a timeless charm. The greens of the vegetation emerge and the rays of sunshine give beautiful golden touches, producing a soft, pastel overall effect in total harmony with the wedding theme producing a soft overall effect.

A big thank you

It was a very moving wedding, both natural and elegant with a subtle, chic atmosphere which I was very lucky to have been a part of.
